Thank you to all the staff at Catalonia Punta Cana for a wonderful holiday in paradise !!

This was my first holiday in Punta Cana, I was given a beautiful ground floor room, because of a bad leg, near the beach and the pool, thanks to Edwin and Ruth. They were extremely helpful and kind. As were all the staff in the hotel. The gardens were magnificent, with beds next to a magical lagoon, if you wanted to be in a quiet space. The beach and pool were great, good food with friendly waiters, what more could you want? I needed a break from a big city, to relax and feel I was being taken care of and I definitely got what I wanted and more !!

Just one tiny thing that disturbed me was the Club Lookea, they were much too loud, childish and not entertaining at all, but that's just my opinion.

LOVED the restaurants, entertainment was great these guys and girls have so much energy they are amazing very sweet.

Only thing I didn’t like is that there is only one pool and for the disco the music is much more for teens than adults I believe maybe more typical music from DR. Everything else was great

What was the highlight of Catalonia Punta Cana Hotel

We had a good time, the resort is nice but there are some issues that need to be addressed.

Overall we had a very good time at this hotel. The resort offers a lot for the price. We liked the privilege room that we stayed in, it was just like in the pictures, beautiful and modern. We loved the beach, it was so beautiful with soft white sand, surrounded by many palm trees and turquoise blue clear water. The beds on the beach were great, we really enjoyed relaxing in the it while watching the beautiful beach and ocean. The resort itself is very big and the surroundings are full of palm trees, flowers and lots of nature that are all really well maintained. We really liked the food, it was tasty and of good quality with so many options to choose from. My wife has a very sensitive stomach so she was worried about food poisoning but it hasn’t been an issue. We very much enjoyed the evening entertainment, the dancers and singers were very talented Also we felt very safe at this resort, it was gated and they had security on the beach. But there were also some things that we didn’t like to the point that we might choose another resort when back to Punta Cana. One thing that really bothered us was the fact that there was a sewage smell that was coming through the ventilation system of the AC, couple of times per day. During the day, we will open the windows and it will pass in 5-10 minutes, although this is a waste of electricity and it is still uncomfortable. The bigger problem it was that the sewage smell was happening in the night as well and it was waking us up in a lot of discomfort. One other thing that bothered us was that the water pressure in the shower was very low and it was cold. It was very uncomfortable to shower with cold water after the beach day with a ridiculous water pressure. We noticed that if we shower at different times rather than the evening this wasn’t such a big issue, but like most people we wanted to shower when it was getting dark outside so that we get get ready for our dinner reservations.

One thing that really bothered us was the fact that there was a sewage smell that was coming through the ventilation system of the AC, couple of times per day. One day was particularly bad, the cleaning lady took our wet towels and didn’t bring others back. We gave her a very good tip and asked her couple hours later to bring us towels and she said she would but she didn’t. Hours later we called the hotel to bring it, they said they would but after almost 3 hours they still didn’t. We called again and after 40 minutes they finally brought it but we had to dry without towels so that we can get ready for the restaurant reservation. On top of this, the hands towel they gave was stained badly. However not every day was like this, there were times when they brought what we asked for in 15-30 minutes. One other thing that was uncomfortable was that the AC was blowing with force cold air straight on the bed direction and it was also loud. Had to sleep with earplugs and with the covers on head and even like this it was uncomfortable. We tried to set the AC for warmer temperature but it didn’t seam to care, when it was on it was blowing cold and it wouldn’t stop when reaching the set temperature. Another thing that we didn’t like was it was not that clean. Many times at the buffet and also at the other restaurants the utensils were greasy and dirty. Room cleaning was barely ok.

not enough sunbeds by the swimmingpool, and the water organization is terrible. you get bottles only in the room, otherwise they serving water only in the glass. in this heat, bottled water should be available everywhere.

Had several things to do while been on the property.

I got the all inclusive package, but seems like they wouldn’t refill certain items on the food bar. Snack bar in the back they wouldn’t put anything back once it was gone so you had to be in a rush to get there early.

In the upgraded rooms we had a great vacation. The food was good buffet also and the staff.

Facilities for kids. Easy swimming in ocean lots of palm trees.

Without an upgrade, we wouldn’t have been happy.regular rooms were sad looking with repairs to be adressed.

Over all I had a great stay.

Everything was great. My view from the room was great. The distance to the pool and beach was perfect. Staff was super friendly.

First arrival the room wasn't clean. Balcony door super hard to open and close. The TV was fussy. The black birds flying around while I ate in the main dinning hall.
